This tropical Hawaiian dumpling dish is a really popular Hawaiian pupu, or appetizer. It's so popular they even serve it at the 7-11 gas stations in Hawaii. A popular item to serve at a beach party, tiki bash or Luau. A steamed dumpling recipe from the big island. Also, what's nice is that it is super easy to eat at a tiki party.



Hawaiian Pork Hash Recipe
Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 pound  peeled shrimp minced
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons diced water chestnuts
  • 2 tablespoons diced green onion
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers


Cooking Directions
In a mixing bowl, mix together the all of the following ingredients: ground pork, shrimp, egg white, water chestnuts, green onion, cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, oyster sauce, salt, pepper, and the sesame oil.

Place about spoonful of the filling in the center of the dumpling wrapper.
Fold the sides up to the middle. Do not close the top but leave them open.

Place the prepared dumplings in a steamer and cook for about 30 minutes.

This one works as a non-alcoholic treat for the tiki bar.


It's a tiki frosty of sorts.

We all carve watermelon is the summer, so slice up some watermelon and put it in the freezer so you can have this drink anytime. The kiwi and banana also give a nice tropical touch. This summer drink is great because it is naturally hydrating. drink is very easy to make once prepped. A great non-alcoholic option for the tiki bar this summer.

watermelon is very healthy for you, it's very low in calories and full of healthy nutrients like vitamins C and vitamen A,  potassium and lycopene. The  kiwis are healthy and very delicious. full of vitamins C and vitamen K, folate, potassium and fiber. Taste great and good for you to.

Watermelon Kiwi Lime Frosty Recipe
This one serves 2-3 people

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups frozen watermelon
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh kiwis, peeled
  • 2-3 Tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 banana 

Mixing Procedure:
This one is real easy, just put in the blender and blend until creamy, pout into a glass, garish and you are set to go.

"Firi Firi" A Tahitian doughnut recipe, a great finger food to serve at a tiki party or luau.

TIki foods presents "Firi Firi", learn to make a classic Tahitian doughnut recipe.

This is a great finger food that stays in theme with a tiki party or a luau party food.
A classic dish in Tahiti that is served as a side dish with many meals.
You can get these any time of day or night.

WE LIKE TO EAT THESE WITH POISSON CRU.

"Firi Firi" - Tahitian doughnuts recipe:
Ingredients:


4 cups of white flour
2 tablespoons of active yeast (yeast packet)
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 cup of coconut milk (not coconut water)
1 1/2 cup of water
1 cup of peanut oil
1 pinch of sea salt

Cooking Instruction:
1. Add the flour, water and the yeast into a mixing bowl.
2. mix the ingredients until the dough starts to get firm.
3. Add the coconut milk, sugar and salt to the dough and mix.
4. Roll the dough into a ball.
5. Let it stand for about 2 hours or so.
6. slice the dough into pieces and shape them into the number eight.
7. Heat the oil to medium heat.
8. Adding only a few at a time place into oil. (More will make them stick)
9. Cook them until they are a nice golden brown.
10. Drain by placing on some paper towels.
11. Sprinkle some white or powered sugar.

Poisson Cru can be a marinated raw fish recipe but many Tahitian resorts due serve a cooked version of this marinated fish salad.

"Poisson Cru" Recipe for 6 people

Ingredients

  • 500 grams fresh tuna fish
  • 2 ripe red tomatoes
  • 2 fresh green limes
  • 1 onion (medium)
  • coconut cream to taste
  • fresh parsley
  • green onions or chives
  • salt and pepper

Procedure

Cut the fish into bit sized cubes and soak in salt water for 10 minutes.
        NOTE: use can use cooked tuna.
In a salad bowl or mixing bowl mix the sliced tomatoes, the sliced onion, the sliced green onion and the chopped fresh parsley.
Add the fresh lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.
Let it sit for a few minutes. 
Mix in gently in the cut fish cubes.
Mix all the ingredients.
Just before you serve, add the coconut milk.
Give a quick toss to the salad.

Tiki Food and Luau Party Foods: Hawaiian Sliders recipe, great for a PuPu platter.

Tropical tiki food: Learn how to make a excellent Hawaiian Sliders recipe.
This is a great item to use for a PuPu platter at a luau or tiki party. These little sliders are fun to make and super easy to eat for both young and old. My son is 3 and he loves these Hawaiian sliders, real easy for him to eat. You can make them indoors or outside at the grill. The pineapple brings in a nice tropical sweetness to this mini hamburger. And the sweet Hawaiian buns, but a nice spin on the classic slider recipe. We just had these tonight, and thought we would share them with you.

The nice thing about this recipe is that you can use either Pork or Beef for this Hawaiian recipe:

HAWAIIAN SLIDERS Recipe:
Ingredients:

• Pork or Beef 
• Sweet Hawaiian buns
• Pineapple Slices
• Red Onion
• Sea Salt and fresh ground Pepper
• Cheese Slices

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Roll the pork or beef into small golf ball sized pieces and flatten into a mini pattie.
2. Heat grill to med-high heat.
3. Place mini patties ontot the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes each side. Do not flatten the sliders as this will release to much of the flavor.
4. Place sliders off to side and on high heat quickly grill the pineapple slices until caramelized.
5. Place pineapple and sliders on the sweet Hawaiian buns.
6. Add the cheese if desired.
7. Add lettuce, onion and mustard to taste.

Cut bananas into round slices.
Use the spring roll wrappers to wrap the banana slices.
Heat oil in a pan or wok, use enough oil to cover the wrapped bananas.
Cook with medium to high heat.
Deep fry the bananas until they are a golden brown.
Use some tongs to grab them and place on a paper towel.
Place them on a serving plate.
Pour the sauce of your choice, we like honey and whipped cream, over the bananas.

Tiki Foods: The grilled "Tiki Island Style Skewers" recipe using spices, shrimp, chicken and vegtables

Tiki Food: How to make the Tiki Island Style Skewers.

A tropical island classic kabob recipe or satay recipe. This is another great recipe that's fun to eat at a tiki party or as a luau party food. Plus the skewers are super fun to make, at least we think so.

This recipe takes about 25 minutes to make and serves 4-6 people.


 Island Style Skewers Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Mango Chutney
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 tlsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
  • 18 med Shrimp
  • 18 large Bamboo Skewers (Soak in water for one hour before using)
  • 1 Yellow Onion cut into cubes
  • 1 Red Onion cut into cubes
  • 2 Mango's cut into cubes
  • 1 Green Pepper cut into cubes
  • Ginger Mango Sauce for dipping


Cooking Procedure

For Marinade
Combine the oil, chutney, vinger and teriyaki sauce.
Set aside half for basting on the grill.

Prep Procedure
Cut the chicken into cubes.
Place the chicken and shrimp into a large pan or bowl, and pour 1/2 the marinade over them all.
Place in the frig for 3 hours, overnight is better.
Place skewers into water to soak for at least an hour.

Procedure:
Peel and cut the onions and peppers into large 1-2 inch wedges.

Place ingredients onto the kabobs as follows:
chicken, onion, mango, green pepper, shrimp

Spray a bit of cooking oil onto grill surface before lighting.

Place the tiki skewers over med hot coals for 15 minutes.

Brush kabobs with left over marinade, turn and cook until done.

Serve with the Ginger Mango dipping sauce.

• Sirloin Steaks
• Asparagus
• Green onion
• teriyaki Sauce
• Soy Sauce

Directions
Roll meat around asparagus and green onion.
Have them hanging out a bit on the ends.
Stick them together with a wet toothpick.
Baste the beef rolls with the teriyaki and soy sauce.
Place onto the grill and continue to paste
Cook 3 minutes on each side.

Ingredients:

• 1 bag Edamame Beans
• 1 cup of baby corn
• 1/8 cup Chopped pomento
• 4 oz  Radishes
• 1/4 cup chopped green oinions


DRESSING
• Seasme seed dressing
• touch of wasabi 1 tsp
• 1 tsp of soy sauce


Steam Bag of Edamame Bean (Soy) for 6 minutes in microwave.
Then shock the beans in cold water. 
Make the dressing and add this to the beans.
Serve.

• 2 packs of Ramon Noodles

SAUCE ingredients
• 2 cups of Chicken Broth
• 2 cap fulls of soy sauce
• 2 tsp toasted Sesame Oil
• 2 tsp Schezwan Sauce

DIRECTIONS:
Place a few bags of Romain noodles into a pot with water.

Bring all the ingredients, except the shrimp to boil.
Cook until the noodles are soft.

Place precooked shrimp into soup and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Tiki Foods: Tempura Banana with green tea suace, a great easy to make Japanese dessert recipe.

This is a great Japanese finger food to serve at your next tiki party or as a luau party food.


This tiki desert, Tempura Banana, is very easy to make and has that tropical theme perfect for a luau.
Ot's also very easy to eat standing, so it works great as a tiki party food.

Tempura Banana Recipe:
Ingredients
• 1 1/2 cup Store bought tempura batter
• 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
• 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
• Fresh Berries as a garnish

Directions:
Cut bananas into slices either straight or at a angle 1/4 inch thick.
Mix the tempura batter as directions on box but be sure to use cold water
to keep them light and flaky.
Stir lightly until all lumps are out.
Place bananas into the tempura batter and coat.
Cooking:
Place one at a time into hot vegetable oil at 350 degrees.
these will cook fast about 1 minute.
place onto a paper towel to dry and pull out more oil.

GREEN TEA SAUCE:
• 4 green tea bags
• Coconut sorbet
• 1 cup water
Make tea, let cool then add the sorbet
Place sauce into bottom of the serving bowl.
Then add cooked bananas.

Tiki Foods & Luau Party Food: The Hula Shake Recipe, A Great Tropical drink.

How to make the Hula Shake for a tiki party or Luau Party.

This is a great tropical shake to cool off to in the summer.
Or use it as a non-alcoholic drink at the tiki bar.
We served this at a luau party last weekend and it was a big hit.

Hula Shake Recipe:
Hula Shake Ingredients
• 1 tsp Chocolate Syrup (Hersheys, Torani, etc.)
• 1/2 tsp Coconut Syrup (Da Vinci, Torani, Hawaiian Sun, etc.)
• 2 oz Pineapple Juice
• 1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
• 2 oz Coconut Milk (Aroy-D, Goya, Thai Kitchen, etc.)

Procedure:
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy.
Serve in a tiki mug, frosted collins glass, or a milk-shake glass.
Garnished the cocktail with a pineapple wheel and maraschino cherry

Tiki Foods and Luau Party Food: Luau Ham and Pineapple Skewer Kebobs Recipe

This are great tasting, fun to eat and they go great with a luau or tiki party.

Makes: 36 Skewers


Luau Ham and Pineapple Skewers Recipe:

  • 1 can of pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 6 oz. thinly sliced cooked or smoked ham
  • Wooden or Bamboo Skewers (Soak in water for 30 minutes)
  • 1 jar of maraschino cherries


Procedure:
In a mixing bowl, coat the pineapple chunks in the orange marmalade.
Put a cherry onto the skewer.
Put a pineapple slice onto the skewer.
Wrap a ham string around each pineapple chunk and secure with a toothpick.

Tiki & Luau Recipes: Seafood Pineapple Bowl a great tropical soup recipe.

Great tropical flavor and great in presentation. This one has a great tiki or tropical look to it. It almost looks like a tiki mug in appearance. This is a great tiki food to serve at a tiki party or luau. This one you make on the grill. This one comes from the expert Sandra Lee.

Ingredients:
• 8 oz rock shrimp
• 8 oz scallops
• 1 pound cod, cut in 1-inch pieces
• 3 large fresh pineapples
• 1 can coconut milk
• 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 2 teaspoons Thai seasoning

Procedure:
Skewer the shrimp, scallops, and cod on separate skewers and grill them until they are just cooked through. You can tell they are done when they come off the grill very easy without sticking. Cut the pineapples in half and scoop the middle from each pineapple to form a bowl. Wrap the bottom of the pineapple bowl with a double layer of heavy-duty foil because it's going onto the grill. they will get nice and soft. Cut the reserved pineapple into small cubes.  In a bowl, combine pineapple, coconut milk, cilantro, and Thai seasoning. Fill pineapple bowl halfway full of the mixture. Mix meat together at end and serve. Garnish this tropical seafood soup with a shrimp kabob.

Tropical Island & Tiki Foods: Pineapple and sweet potatoes oven baked recipe.

A great tropical tasting dish that is easy to make.
Great for a tropical luau or tiki party.

A great comfort food that is relatively healthy with sweetness without the fat.



Note: You can speed up the prep time by using canned sweet potatoes.


Pineapple and sweet potatoes Ingredients
• 6 large sweet potatoes
• 1 large can of crushed pineapple
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 dash of ground cinnamon
• 1 dash of ground ginger
• 1 dash of ground nutmeg
• 1 dash of ground cloves

ProcedurePreheat the oven to 360 degrees. Butter or grease a baking dish.
Bring the pot of salt water to boil. Add potatoes and then cook them until they are tender but firm. Drain, and place in a large bowl to cool then peel and chop in quarters.
In a sauce pan, combine pineapple, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Bring them all to a boil and then reduce heat. Place potatoes in a baking dish. Pour sauce over potatoes and bake for another 45 minutes.

TIKI FOODS: Tiki Spring Rolls Recipe. tiki appetizers.

Tiki Foods: How to make a classic spring roll recipe for a tiki party, luau or pupu platter.

Spring rolls are different in each part of Asia.
Spring rolls also differ from the classic egg roll.
They can eaten be fresh or fried.
A perfect treat for a tiki party or tropical luau.




Spring Roll Recipe 



Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves of minced garlic.
  • 1 inch of grated ginger root.
  • 2 green or white onions, sliced into small strips
  • 1 red chili finely chopped.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage.
  • 5  mushrooms, cut into strips.
  • 1/2 cup sliced tofu or you can use baby shrimp.
  • 2 cups fresh bean sprouts.
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander.
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil.
  • 2 Tbsp. oil.
  • 1 package of spring roll wrappers.

  • STIR-FRY SAUCE:
  • 2 Tbsp. of soy sauce.
  • 2 Tbsp. of fish sauce.
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice.
  • 1/4 tsp. white granulated sugar.
  • TO SERVE:
  • Thai sweet chilli sauce
  • YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN DIPPING SAUCE:
  • Mix 1/3 cup of plum sauce with 3 Tbsp. of soy sauce. Then add cut fresh chili or you can try cayenne pepper.

Preparation:

  1. Place oil in a wok over medium to high heat. Add garlic, ginger, shallots, and chilli. Stir-fry about 1 minute. 
  2. Then add the cabbage, mushrooms, and tofu or shrimp if you prefer. As you stir-fry, you can add the sauce. Stir-fry 1-2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and then add the bean sprouts.
  4. Add salt, adding 1 Tbsp. more fish or soy sauce if needed.
  5. To make the rolls, place a spring roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place one large Tbsp. of the filling on the side of the wrapper.
  6. Now sprinkle some of the fresh coriander and basil.
  7. Fold the left and right sides of wrapper, then lift up the wide end nearest you and tuck overtop. Roll to the other end. Secure the roll by wetting the end, "pasting" it closed.
  8. To fry the spring rolls, place some oil in a wok with medium-high heat. When bubbles start to rise.
  9. Using tongs, place spring rolls in the oil, allowing them to fry about 1 minute on each side. Spring rolls are done when they turn light to medium golden-brown. Place them on paper towels to drain while you finish frying the rest.
  10. Serve spring rolls with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, or your own dipping sauce.

KON TIKI CHICKEN SALAD RECIPE:
• 2 cups cut Chicken Breasts
• 1 cup chopped Celery
• 1/2 cup Coconut Flakes
• 1 tbsp Chutney
• Curry Dressing to taste
• 2 Fresh Cantaloupes

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cook chicken breasts
2. Combine chicken with celery, coconut and the chutney dressing.
3. Mix well.
4. Cut cantaloupes in half, remove the seeds.
5. Fill the cantaloupes with the chicken mixture.

United Airlines to serve Trader Vic's on flights to Hawaii.

United Airlines will be serving customers flying in United First Tiki-island inspired cuisine with the introduction of Trader Vic’s food.
This will be on flights between the US mainland and Hawaii.

The food will be classic Trader Vic style tiki fare.

Tiki Food Recipe: Tropical Grilled Mango with Spicy Rum Glaze and Vanilla Ice Cream

This is a great tropical dish to serve at a tiki party, or luau.

Excellent to cool of to on a hot summer day.



RECIPE: Tropical Grilled Mango with Spicy Rum Glaze and Vanilla Ice Cream.

SERVES: 4
PREP TIME: 15 min.
COOK TIME: 20 min.

INGREDIENTS:
• 4 Tbls. Unsalted Butter
• 2 Tbls. Pineapple Juice
• 1 1/2 Tbls. Honey
• 1/2 Tsp. Chili Powder
• 1/2 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
• 2 Tbls. Dark Rum (meyers rum, captain morgan)
• 2 Fresh firm Mangos (Peeled & Pitted)
• 1 Pint Vanilla Ice Cream
• 1/2 Cup Coconut Flakes
• 1/4 Cup Almonds
• 4 Fresh Lime Slices


DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat honey, juice, peppers and butter in a saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Add Rum, stir and set aside to cool.
4. Brush mango slices with glaze and let sit.
5. Grill glazed mango slices on the grill for 3-5 minutes.
6. Place 4 mango slices in a bowl.
7. Add a scoop of ice cream.
8. Add coconuts and almonds.
9. Top with more mango.
10. Add a spoon full of leftover glaze.
11. Garnish with lime slices.

• 12 Large Shrimp
• 2 Fresh Oranges
• 1/2 stick of Butter
• Salt and pepper


COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Heat skillet to med heat.
2. Melt butter in skillet.
3. Add the juice of the 2 oranges to the butter.
4. Add shrimp to skillet.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6. Cook until done, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Overview:
This is as close as we can come to the original
recipethat is enjoyed in the Cayman Islands.
The original recipe is made from a special
recipe of gold rum, that made by the Tortuga
Rum Company and is not for sale to the public.
If you have a chance you must try this cake.

The original recipe is a closely guarded family secret,
handed down from father to son.

NOTE:
It is important that you use nice good dark rum.

Tortuga Rum Cake Recipe:

CAKE:
• 3/4 cup dark rum (Tortuga Dark, Jamaican)
• 4 large eggs
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1 box yellow cake mix
• 1 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 pack instant vanilla pudding
• 1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Secret Special Sauce
• 1/4 cup dark rum
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 stick pure butter


Directions For Rum Cakes:
1. Preheat the oven to 340 F.
2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
3. Sprinkle the nuts on the bottom of pan.
4. Blend cake mix, dry pudding mix, water, rum, oil and eggs for 2-3 min.
5. Pour into pan.
6. Bake in oven for 1 hr .
7. Make Secret sauce 5 minutes before cake is done.
8. Combine water rum, water sugar and butter in to a pan.
9. Heat over medium heat, stirring often until boil.
10. Boil for 2-3 minutes stirring often. Remove cake from the oven.
11. Stab cake in places with sharp knife and say ARRRRGG. (like a pirate)
12. Pour sauce over cake.
13. Let the cool in the for 30 minutes before removing from the pan.
