Tiki Foods: The grilled "Tiki Island Style Skewers" recipe using spices, shrimp, chicken and vegtables

Tiki Food: How to make the Tiki Island Style Skewers.

A tropical island classic kabob recipe or satay recipe. This is another great recipe that's fun to eat at a tiki party or as a luau party food. Plus the skewers are super fun to make, at least we think so.

This recipe takes about 25 minutes to make and serves 4-6 people.


 Island Style Skewers Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Mango Chutney
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 tlsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
  • 18 med Shrimp
  • 18 large Bamboo Skewers (Soak in water for one hour before using)
  • 1 Yellow Onion cut into cubes
  • 1 Red Onion cut into cubes
  • 2 Mango's cut into cubes
  • 1 Green Pepper cut into cubes
  • Ginger Mango Sauce for dipping


Cooking Procedure

For Marinade
Combine the oil, chutney, vinger and teriyaki sauce.
Set aside half for basting on the grill.

Prep Procedure
Cut the chicken into cubes.
Place the chicken and shrimp into a large pan or bowl, and pour 1/2 the marinade over them all.
Place in the frig for 3 hours, overnight is better.
Place skewers into water to soak for at least an hour.

Procedure:
Peel and cut the onions and peppers into large 1-2 inch wedges.

Place ingredients onto the kabobs as follows:
chicken, onion, mango, green pepper, shrimp

Spray a bit of cooking oil onto grill surface before lighting.

Place the tiki skewers over med hot coals for 15 minutes.

Brush kabobs with left over marinade, turn and cook until done.

Serve with the Ginger Mango dipping sauce.

Tiki Foods and Luau Party Food: Luau Ham and Pineapple Skewer Kebobs Recipe

Tiki and Luau party foods: How to make Luau Ham and Pineapple Kabobs.

This are great tasting, fun to eat and they go great with a luau or tiki party.
Popular in the Hawaiian Islands

Makes: 36 Skewers


Luau Ham and Pineapple Skewers Recipe:

  • 1 can of pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 6 oz. thinly sliced cooked or smoked ham
  • Wooden or Bamboo Skewers (Soak in water for 30 minutes)
  • 1 jar of maraschino cherries


Procedure:
In a mixing bowl, coat the pineapple chunks in the orange marmalade.
Put a cherry onto the skewer.
Put a pineapple slice onto the skewer.
Wrap a ham string around each pineapple chunk and secure with a toothpick.

Thai Peanut Chicken Satay Recipes for Tiki party or Luau.

Thai Peanut Chicken Satay Recipe.
How to make a great tropical tiki satay.

This is a great tasty meal to serve at a
tiki party or luau. We served it at a few
of our late night tiki parties and it was a big hit.

Like tiki drinks, the peanut chicken satay
has a big bold flavor.



PEANUT SAUCE MARINADE: Recipe One
• 1-2 Garlic Cloves Chopped & Minced
• 2-3 Tbls Peanut Butter
• 1 Tsp Curry Powder
• 1/2 Cup Fresh Lime Juice
• 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
• 1 Tsp Black Pepper


PEANUT SAUCE MARINADE: Recipe Two

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced and crushed
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

TIKI LUAU PARTY FOOD: SHRIMP & PINEAPPLE SATAY RECIPE. Easy outdoor tiki party snacks.

Tiki Foods: How to make a great tiki SHRIMP and PINEAPPLE SATAY dish.

A great easy to make a great satay for a tiki or luau party.
Easy outdoor tiki party snacks.

SATAY (means meat on a stick)

OVERVIEW:
Yummy, fun to make and eat.

NEEDED: pinapple chunks, shrimp, bamboo spikes,
butter, garlic, pepper.

RECIPE:

1. Soak bamboo spikes in water for 1 hr. (they will not burn this way)

2. Place shrimp on spike first.

3. Then add the pineapple.

4. Repeat, for how ever many you want.

5. Rub on melted butter, then garlic, then pepper.

6. Throw on the grill to heat.


NOTE: Have a place to set the bamboo spikes, out of the way of bare feet and animals when done!

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
This one is a absolute favorite at our summer tiki bash!
