cooking banana. It's used for cooking
because it's harder than a regular banana,
so it holds up well to the abuse of cooking.

Origins
The plantain is a food staple in Mexico
and the Yucatan.

Haupia is a pudding made from coconut.

Laulau are meat and fish wrapped in tea leaves.

Lomi Lomi is a salad of tomatoes, onions, chili peppers and salted fish, usually salmon.
