"Firi Firi" A Tahitian doughnut recipe, a great finger food to serve at a tiki party or luau.

A classic dish in Tahiti that is served as a side dish with many meals.

"Firi Firi" - Tahitian doughnuts recipe:
Ingredients:


4 cups of white flour
2 tablespoons of active yeast (yeast packet)
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 cup of coconut milk (not coconut water)
1 1/2 cup of water
1 cup of peanut oil
1 pinch of sea salt

Cooking Instruction:
1. Add the flour, water and the yeast into a mixing bowl.
2. mix the ingredients until the dough starts to get firm.
3. Add the coconut milk, sugar and salt to the dough and mix.
4. Roll the dough into a ball.
5. Let it stand for about 2 hours or so.
6. slice the dough into pieces and shape them into the number eight.
7. Heat the oil to medium heat.
8. Adding only a few at a time place into oil. (More will make them stick)
9. Cook them until they are a nice golden brown.
10. Drain by placing on some paper towels.
11. Sprinkle some white or powered sugar.
